Title: My wife helped me:)
Post by: Martan on December 22, 2016, 06:32:37 PM
Proudly presenting the first collaboration with my wife, who is one heck of a painter. Artwork is done in acrylic. Board is Aion Refractor Klon clone. Lots of Envirotex on the top and bottom. the knobs were found through LeeVibe's AMAZING Pennyroyal chorus (http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=20699.msg203220#msg203220 (http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=20699.msg203220#msg203220)) which leads to ebay. Careful when you order them. I thought I was getting 6 and got like 40 or so:)
Enjoy!

That is achingly beautiful. It's sad that the bottom will be hidden because it might be my favorite part. Your wife is very talented, as are you!

Now that's teamwork! Very sweet looking. You and your wife can make 11 more of those to use up all those extra knobs!

Thanks guys! My wife is the talented one. I'm more of a paint-by-numbers guy. I added a pic of the pedal with the cool UV LED turned on to the OP. My wife has been wowwing me with her painting for years now. Check out https://www.facebook.com/ArtByKatyOToole/ (https://www.facebook.com/ArtByKatyOToole/) for more of her artwork!

Thanks again,

Marty

That's really superb.  Downside is it's unplayable, it's so beautiful that I'd be scared to get my feet anywhere near it.  Really well done inside and out!

That is really cool. how did you get the envirotex to look so smooth going over to the edges?

Thanks! Not sure about the edges. Just fanned it out with a wooden ruler.
It was 3 coats total to cover mistakes. That might have made a difference.

This is very nice looking! Great build!
I really like the refractor PCB, it is very well designed and very compact!

Has anyone made a tutorial about using envirotex? It is very nice looking, and very professional!

Ah, I see now, I thought you had it running over the edges, like one continuous pour. Was looking on my phone at first. Still, it looks really great.

Juan Solo has the definitive one, I think:

Its after the decal section.

Wowzers. Clean build/guts and I like the E-tex, but your wife definitely knocked it out of the park.

I have previously associated acrylics with kiddie art or worse - my own art. That's pretty impressive, sir.
