Gorgeous! I love everything about it.

Build Reports / Re: New PS1A build

I vaguely recall cutting those notches on discarded adware and junkware disks so that we could record over them.

i used to build a lot of these. My notes indicate that a 5kC pot gave the best results and that the original used 2kB.

My Tascam Porta 02 from the mid 90s still works great. I love the fuzz you can get from overloading the levels with bass.

I miss this one.

No, unfortunately. The circuit needs to be designed for the chip. The electric druid filterfx project uses the chip to great effect with a Sample Hold and many more waveforms

Ah, the cursed drift. All of the F/SH I've built present this behaviour to some degree. The only solution that has satisfied me is the stomplfo chip from electric druid. The random wave makes for a rock solid and truly random sample hold with no drift or patterning.

The Madbean Glasshole is an expanded version of the Mutron II. Also PedalPcb has a Mutron II that is the same basic layout as the Krypton but for 125b, as well as a twin Mutron II that is a no frills Bi-Phase. There are schematics in the build docs for those projects. It is my favorite phaser circuit.

As far as I know that's the only Krypton build doc. It is part for part. The only thing not on there is the bicolor rate/bypass led. I built a batch of 50 off of that sheet. I traced the back of the pcb for a drill template.

I still have a Devi Ever Console development kit that I should dig out and dust off. From what I recall, the circuits were much noisier in the cartridge format.

I would start a troubleshooting thread to find what is causing the issue rather than attempt to modify the error away.

Two of my favorite circuits are parallel fuzz. The Spaceman Geminis 3&4, a silicon and germanium fuzz, and the DOD Punkifier, a fuzz and drive. They have pretty extreme tone controls that enhance the layers. I would love a parallel high gain distortion and octave down like the danelectro black licorice, but unshitty.
