Title: Choral Reef Voltage for Power Input
Post by: danfrank on April 22, 2019, 11:08:52 PM
Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum here; it's a great source of information!
My question is can I power my Choral Reef with 15 volts? The zener on the switching board is 16 volts, so I am assuming it will work with a 15 volt supply? I find that these BBD projects work much better at 12-15 volts vs. 9 volts.
Thanks.

"POWER: ... negative-tip 9V to 15V power supply or 9V battery"

Please tell us how it works, as I have one I'm almost done with.

Hi,
Thanks for the link and info.
The Choral Reef is a great chorus plus with the extra stages of the MN3008 it can get into slapback territory. It works well at 9 volts but these BBD chips work much better at 15 volts. I plan on sticking a LT1054 doubler in the box with the C.R. to get the 15 volts.
Thanks again
