Hi guys!
This is the thing. I have to put together the Tonemender with an high gain distortion. But I would like to have just a bit of overdrive, too. I wanted add a gain pot to the Tonemender. I replaced the resistor 4.7k with lower value, but the sound is still clean.
I hoped there was an easy way to get a bit of overdrive.

If that is impossible I could add a little overdrive board, but what? ::)
- It has to be little, simple, with just few components.
- Verified stripboard or protoboard.
- it can work at 12v.
- Just a gain pot which doesn't drop the volume at minimum setting.
- Transparent sound at minimum setting gain, as if it there's no.
- I can get a fix value for the volume with a trimmer.

I'm not saying that exist a pedal like that! ;D Just I wanna know if I can find it.

Thank you! ;)

General Questions / Bending Gauge Tool
September 22, 2017, 01:57:17 PM
Hey, guys!
I wanna ask you something about this tool:
https://www.musikding.de/Bending-gauge

It allows to bend the component's lead at the right size to fit on the perfored board.
Did someone try the Musikding's one? It is really useful with the stripboard, but just if it is really precise, else it will not useful at all.

Thanks! ;)

Hey guys! ;)
I built this circuit: http://www.sabrotone.com/?p=99 and it works, but I got too hum in my opinion, almost like a high gain pedal. Indeed, I can't use it in the overdrive and high gain channels of my amp.
Here's the schematic and other information: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/effects-projects/eq/6-band-graphic-eq/
(The layout is not the exact copy of that project).

I'm checking the components again, but that seems ok.
Any suggestion?

Thanks! ;)

Hi guys. I built a Punch Amp, a Smokey Amp with gain control and some more features, and I'm planning to build a Noisy Cricket.

The Punch Amp is pretty clean, my Smokey Amp can be much aggressive and so will be the Noisy Cricket.
Now, I'm looking forward, and I want a mini amp for guitar, but not so mini, around 5w, with treble, middle and bass control, and of course gain and volume pots. I want to get a real high gain sound.

This is my idea:

Thanks for helping!

General Questions / Condor or...
May 05, 2016, 02:25:53 PM
Hi everyone.
I have to choice a cab sim. ROG Condor is one of most famous, built and well documented. It has some great mods, too. But someone seems to get a bit of overdrive in some cases. I'd like a cab sim clean, more than else. A "saturation" could be an optional, maybe, but not an issue.

I need some information about your experience with the Condor Cab Sim, and a possible alternative. One above other about the MultiCab Sim, it seems to be ok and versatile, too.

Thanks! ;)

Hi guys.
One of my next projects is The Rat, a kind of multi rat version.
I chose this:
http://www.sabrotone.com/?attachment_id=2127

So, that should be a sort of three version in one, cause the several clipping.
I wanted to use for the first time a rotary switch and I bought this 2P6T:
http://www.musikding.de/Rotary-switch-2P6T-open

I bought it for a more complex version, but then I change my mind for an easier version, in the first link.

My question:
1. Can I use a 2P6T rotary switch in that layout? I was thinking to use the three clipping modes and a fourth position for a no clipping mode.
2. I would like to know if that rotary switch has the chance to set only four positions. (I wish because it will be Very useful.)

Thank you!

Hi guys.
Unfortunately I need some help, again.
I built a Fuzz Factory circuit using the veroboard layout of tagboard:

I tested it, and it seems work well, except for a detail.
If I put all the ground, the negative from the DC jack, the ground wire from the board, and the two ground wires from the volume and gate pot all together on the input sleeve I can't set the drive pot at max, because I got much noise, and I even can't set to zero the volume and the tone pot of my guitar because the noise become a squeal.
I can solve this issue if I separe the two ground from the pots from the other ground and connect them on the sleeve of the output.
Anyway, also in this case I got a sort of noisy squealing whistle.

For having no noise I have slightly low the drive.

I don't know why this happends. I would build this circuit perfectly.

I'm using the madbeanpedals wiring, and just the grounds are not soldered.

Thank you!

General Questions / Rub-a-Dub Reverb Deluxe in feedback
February 05, 2016, 03:18:02 PM
Hello guys!
My first post here.
I play guitar and I learnt to build pedals, but I'm just moderated expert.

I built a Rub-a-Dub Reverb Deluxe on veroboard. I'm testing it and it seems to sound good. I tried the "only wet signal mod" taking off the 22k resistor, and also this works well.

I have just a problem. I can't set the dual pot over the half.
1776 board has a 100k Linear dual pot, but the layout I found has a 250k dual pot, it should allow longer decay. But if I set the decay pot over the half, after a while I got a sort of feedback effect, like with some high gain distortion, but clean, then it gets dirtier and pretty louder. The only way to kill it is turn the decay pot to min.
I power it with battery.

Is the dual pot too much big the problem?

Thank you!
