Hey,
I've finally boxed up 3 pedals.
Here is the first : LA VACHE

I ended up using 1N914s for D1-D2, BAT46s for Z1-Z2 and a germanium 1N34A for Z3 for more variety. The configuration with Z3 is the one I like the most.

The finish is quite unfinished. Dark black beauty style. I intended to apply some clear coat but I liked it as it is. I may add some label afterwards.
I also sanded the LED to give it a more diffused look.

It sounds really good at high volume level especially with my Tele.

I wanted to build this one because I love tweed sounds. I played on a tweed bandmaster 5E7 and I will be able to compare the pedal with the amp cranked up.
Then, Lius is a nickname of mine so ...
And finally I'm French !!!

3 good reasons  ;)

Cool build, I like the flat finish... gives it a raw feel that suits this overdrive IMO.
I'm undecided on the diodes in my lavache... I think I tried 1n914s, Bat 41s and one LED in the end.  Great sounding circuit anyways :)

Hey Liustucru, where did you those sockets you used for the diodes?  The ones I have are good for resistors and caps but the diode leads are too fat.  I've also never seen a transistor like that.  Where are you getting these cool things?

Hey Goldfixe,
the sockets are conventional ones (http://www.banzaimusic.com/SIL-64-pins.html).
I use them to socket all my diodes except for the 1N400X which are too fat.
You can see on the picture that the 1N4001 on the left is not socketed for that reason.
All the other diodes fit !

The transistor is 2n3565 from Banzai (http://www.banzaimusic.com/2N3565.html).

Hey,
just a new photo with the final touch !!!

Awesome! Thanks.  I run into the same prob with 1N400X being too fat.  Always looking for a way to socket those.

Nice work.  I like the stamped plate on the final pic you posted.
