i went through the debug process, and finally found something! i had a solder bridge between my diode's but couldn't see it until i pulled out my magnifying glass. now a new problem started, when the gain is up all the way it sounds like a distorted tremolo pedal! very choppy helicopter like. i just cant win

Tech Help - Projects Page / strange sunking prob
February 15, 2011, 02:15:40 AM
OK so i built a sinking with no subbed parts and was testing it outwith no switch or enclosure, sounded good but as if was lacking a little gain,no big deal i was gonna experiment with some diff. diodes. anyway i  wired in the switch put it in a box and now all its doing is acting like a clean boost! no gain whatsoever. and the gain pot makes it louder when at zero than full on. double checked the wiring  looks all good. any ideas as to where i should be looking?

Tech Help - Projects Page / egodriver led prob

this one has me stumped, i recently finished my 2nd ego build "1st one was for a friend and it turned out awesome so now i want one" everything seemed fine "sound-wise" until i hooked up the led, after i wired up the led there is a noticeable drop in gain, anyone ever heard of this?

Tech Help - Projects Page / sunking troubles
December 31, 2010, 12:15:24 AM
so i finally got some sound out of this thing after some minor trouble-shooting,and i found d3 was bad, but now im getting a signal through the pedal but it sounds almost over distorted and if i turn the gain up all the way it sounds like a fuzz pedal! the only thing that i noticed was that pin 7 of ic2 was less than 1 volt even after swapping out the chip.
any thoughts?

General Questions / krank board question
December 12, 2010, 10:23:14 PM
this is only the 3rd pedal i've made but it is the first single sided board, so my first question is -do components go on the blank side? second- is there any obvious reason i am only getting a signal in bypass and nothing when effect is engaged?
