Regarding the forum crash from earlier today. F*&k that noise. That's all I have to say about it right now.
Here's the good news: Etcher's Paradise has launched and there have been some other updates to the webpages. You may need to refresh the home and projects page to start to see the changes. Here is a direct link to the new EP page:

If anyone encounters issues with the new pages please post here. I have checked over everything but it's easy to miss small things here and there.
Woot!
I'll be breaking out the breadboard this weekend. Thanks Brian!!!
Etchers Paradise looks awesome Brian! Great work on that. I only see about a dozen off the bat that I am going to try, the Gravity Wave looks like the one I have to try first ;D
Dammit man, now I'm going to have to learn aren't I?
Clicked on tutorials. Was not dissapointed.
Fat etch now stank.
On the project page, you are missing a space between forum and the slash.
That'll keep 'em out of mischief :)
So excited to take part in this.. I got a week off work starting tomorrow, but here is the bad news, I will be out of town. lol
I am sure this was by no means "easy" Brian. I am blown away by the quality and selection. Thanks so much man!

This. ;D
Amazing.
Thanks Brian!
Awesome!
Thanks Brian.

This is great. Even the schematics alone most take ages!
Smashing 8)
I can't get to the tutorials.
Awesomness! :D
Brian, you're THE man!
Etchers paradise looks great.
Thanks Brian!
I will start with Aquaboy :D
Thanks guys. I'm glad you are liking the EP. It's a bit lean on content but a lot more will be added. It takes quite a while to get these docs done, as you can imagine.
Here is a summary of all the website changes:
A lot of code was tightened up and tables were optimized.
The navigation system was replaced with something simpler.
The Projects page got some minor tweaks.
The About and Links page were combined with the FAQ Page.
The Builds page was deleted.
The Tutorials and Demos pages were added. There is nothing on the Tutorials page yet but there will be soon. The Demos page will get an actual design...I've just got basic content on there now.
I am still looking into a new shopping cart system so we are nowhere near finished with the website. But, this is good enough for the moment.
Hi Brian,
I haven't been able to build anything in over a year for personal reasons. I've just been browsing some of the contributors 2015 builds - some amazing stuff there! That, and your post here, is inspiring me to get back into it. I am sitting on quite a few PCBs here. i need to get my ass into gear!
Thanks, once again, for this amazing gift!
Mark
Is the Pointdexter inspired by a pedal with "apple" in its name?
We say a gardener as a green thumb. Well ..... and etcher as a yellow thumb!
Did a lot of etching this weekend. Had a little hole in my rubber clove thumb, so I had a yellow thumb for the last 3 days.
Don't want to be picky (I know what Brian is doing is above kindness and takes a huge amount of time) But I really like adding a silkscreen on my etches. Would it be possible to add a silkscreen image in the docs? Same as the parts layout but without the shaded PCB.
Thanks again for doing this. I have a friend that's just starting building and I'll tell him to shop at the etcher paradise and I'll etch him what he wants.

"Boutique" will be the code-name for Z\/ex. Reason not important.
You could put up a permanent link to the EP section at the top of the forum.
I second that proposition.
Man, this is epic! This represents a huge amount of work, thanks for sharing Brian!

I can't get to the tutorials.
Here is a thread that has links to the two Brian posted before.

I'm in the mood to quit my job and get to work verifying these awesome looking layouts. Brian, this is going to be THE indispensable resource for DIYers. Seriously man. You're about to conquer the world here.
I just built the Ghost Note (Haunting Mids Fuzz). Everything seems to be in working order on this one, except the clipping leds are shown backwards (assuming the shorter led leg is meant to go to the sq pad). In other words, once I flipped the led's around to where the short legs went to the round pad instead, they started lighting up and clipping.
The long leads should go to the square pad, so you actually did it right the second time. That is strange though because they are back to back so it shouldn't matter which way you do them (as long as they are B2B).
Incidentally, all the diodes in the MBP library are cathode to square pad EXCEPT for LEDs. I found early on that people got confused and were constantly flipping LEDs when I had it the other way around so I changed it just for that one.

Yup, same for me here. Personally, I'd prefer if all the positive pads were square ones as you have it for electros. Would make sense to have diodes in the same manner. just a thought
ah, no wonder I've always been confused with led's around here, lol. ok, so long leg, square pad. got it.
as far as the led's not lighting up the first way I had it, maybe they were just bad parts. they were from this bag of super-ancient led's i had from a trade, and I actually changed them out for new ones when I flipped them around. probably just a coincidence.
anyway, i guess the ghost note is verified, then.
