Title: Zappagizer *demo added
Post by: Guitarmageddon on March 23, 2012, 09:31:55 AM
Harmonic Energizer (Karate Shop) with LFO.
The LFO (switchable) drives a LDR in series with the Frequency pot.

Thanks!
Frank's face is an etch, the red/black burst I did with rattle cans.
Once it was dry, I used some wet & dry and coarse steel wool to reveal the face again.

That is one piece of art! And again a Zappa pedal (can't remember exactly where the first one was, but it was on this forum, this week), Frank is getting his props in the pedal-building community! The etching is so beautiful!

Very cool work man. I just posted a Zappa themed sabertooth build I did for my brother-in-law. He would flip out over your pedal design. Goodness for sure.

Sure, it's pretty straight forward. ;)

1. Build Madbeans Karate Shop/Chop.

2. Take your favorite LFO (low frequency oscillator) and have it flash an LED.

3. Point Flashing LED at LDR (light dependent resistor) connected is series with the frequency pot (see diagram) This places it on a switch so it can be dropped in or out.

Lovely pedal!

Any chance you could post your preferred LFO circuit??

Your pedal sounds and looks awesome and love the mod but being a relative newby I dont quite understand once you have built the board how you get the LFO to flash the LED -is it wired into the board. just starting to make a karate shop and would love to be able to understand how to add your mod to it. I can see how the LDR is wired in on your diagram. :)
