Thank you! This looks like exactly what I was looking for.

I'd like to build some sort of switching pedal so that I can do some pedal shootouts with all of the various pedals I've built over the years.  I've found 2 different schematics on Google but they only partially function.  I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

Thank you, I have a much better understanding now.  I'm going to build it as is without the zener until I order components again at which time I'll put in the correct 15v.

I'm putting together the Archibald and just noticed that I didn't order a 15v zener but I do have a 12v and a 16v.  Can I use either of these without any issues or should I just order a 15v?

VFE Projects / Re: VFE Standout IC Voltage question

I do have it socketed and showed 0v on pin7. I relflowed all of the suggested parts and now the ic reading is just under 3v but there is no change to the output sound.  I'm going to try again and see if there is another change.  I've checked all the resistor values and they're correct.

VFE Projects / VFE Standout IC Voltage question
November 21, 2021, 03:17:29 PM
Hi, I'm trying to troubleshoot this Standout and I could use some advice. When I engage the pedal it sounds heavily distorted so I checked the voltages on the ics (JRC4580DD) and I'm hoping some can steer me in the right direction.  There is one value that is very off:
Upper IC reads:        Correct voltage:
3.96   0.0                 3.67    0.0
4.72   3.72               4.43    3.77
4.73   4.55               4.43    4.21
8.67   4.55               8.18    4.44

Lower IC reads:      Correct Voltage
4.54    0.00             4.21       0.00
4.54    3.89             4.21       3.67
7.96*  4.73             4.21       4.44  *this is likely the issue?
8.18    4.73             8.67       4.55

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Today I learned about a few handy programs that will certainly help in the future.  Thank you to those who replied, I appreciate your help!

The BOM I have for a Mini-Mu lists a single 65k resistor and I can't seem to find one anywhere.  Can I use a 68k in place?

Do you happen to still have any of the Mini Mu PCB's and if so are you willing to sell one?  I've been looking everywhere for one.

I threw together the Snack Shack fuzz pedal that Madbean threw in as freebie.  It sounds great when playing but I noticed that when I roll the guitar volume below 1 1/2 the guitar sound drops out and is replaced by a squealing tone that is constant in volume and pitch.  I don't hear anything unusual when the guitar vol is set higher than that.  Any ideas where to begin troubleshooting?
