Title: Lovetone ? Flanger Question
Post by: Droogie on July 16, 2014, 09:16:47 PM
For anyone here who has built or owns an original, do you use the Trig/Gate function a lot? I'm starting my build and am thinking of leaving it out. I realize it won't be an exact copy, but it might make life easier. On the fence about it.

if you build a simple controller for it,its excellent and gives you some great FX

tutorial here: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=14678.msg137136#msg137136

In basics, with just the controller you can do some cool ramp/burst fx with the flanger and trem either separately or togethers.
You can also freeze the LFO which gives you access to "filter matrix" sounds

With the LFO frozen and either the light jack, or a pedal controlling the manual, you can emulate pedal flanger sounds.

Neat as fook.

I keep thinking I must try connecting the ?Flange to my modular synth (that's why the ?Flange has an Input Gain control.)

But it's too damn useful on my pedalboard! I don't use it for nutso noise, more phattening up sounds. Delay-?Flange-reverb is amazing.
