Took off INTO my lense, scared the crap out of me, and I fell. Cracked my 17-40L at the mounting plate, and my camera does not autofocus anymore. Canon is going to be happy about that one. Thankfully we have the wife's Rebel as well.

Tomorrow is the Moog tour, Blackout Effectors, a revisit to Sherwood's to see if my bargaining skills have improved, there's a small 5w amp I'm off to negotiate for. They have another non-modded one as well. We will see.

It's the equivalent of a broken headstock. It sucks. It happens. It's usually fixable with 1 series and L lenses. I've gotten 10 years out of that camera, and even more out of that lense. If it can't be fixed affordably or is infact camera/lense death, it's an
excuse reason to get the 5DmkIII and/or the 24-105L since we have a Rebel and another 17-40L anyways.

Again "don't quote me on this" I think he was having a go at us with the "5u eurorack". I can tell you I saw 3u wooden rack with 16pin ribbon connectors and also a benchtop power supply set to 5 and 15 volts. It was empty, and I was distracted by the Moog Guitar. They did have a couple of Kayne West's synths in the repair shop.
TOTALLY didn't realize you were headed to Asheville. My wife and I used to live about an hour and a half from there and would go there once every few weekends. My favorite watering hole is a joint called the Thirsty Monk. Downstairs is all belgian ales on tap. Good ones. Gulden Draak. Mmmmm.
