Is anyone aware of any Gibson amp build docs out in the webz? I'm mostly interested in a GA-40 but I'm not married to it. Any old Gibson circuit might do. I'm just starting the poking around phase if you will.

A couple threads around the GA-40 at this site. I haven't read the threads so can't say how applicable they might be and you have to be a member to so much as take peak... lame.

If my photos are missing again... they're hosted by photobucket... and as of 06/2017 being held hostage... to be continued?

Whew, it wasn't easy but I registered. I will check it out. Thanks for the link/info.

Hope it was worth it.

This might be  one of the amps documented at ppwatt in another thread. Maybe the impetus for the other threads. http://www.ppwatt.com/node/17438

I only had a few minutes to explore but it looks like they dropped the tremolo portion of the circuit so he calls is a "lite" version. Either way this will help in my accumulation of bits and pieces I'm coming up with.

You, or me, get spoiled with great layouts, whether they are pedals or amps, and then when I can't find one, like this GA-40, I'm disappointed. I think I'll eventually cobble together something though.

I think i did see a eyelet board layout in the second thread, whether it's been verified no idea and if you're doing the trem as well, that layout might serve as a stepping off point.

if you've ever been in an original, they're typically a flying spaghetti monster of leads on a very compact component layout.
