I use my multimeter for continuity checks as I solder in the parts.  Just follow the schematic to see which parts should connect to each other and check them for continuity as you go.  That eliminates many soldering problems.  I also like to check off each part with a highlighter as I solder them to the board.

Patience here is a real virtue.  And if you make an error, it's not the end of the world.  Troubleshooting is a process we've all gone thru many times.

Great 1st build.  Wiring gets easier as you go along.  PCBs with board mounted pots are fantastic.

I like how you matched the knobs with the enclosure.

Love the decals.  I like how they cover the entire top.  I just started on my 3 builds. 

I also like the choice/colour of the knobs.

Will the Tayda LDR's work for this build?

Thanks everyone. Just started checking out Tayda and their "easy order" resistor page alone has me convinced I should give them a try when their next coupon code pops up. I won't need 100s of them, but just a couple dozen in each common flavor to do a few projects after I finish my undergrad in May.

IMHO, that's the way to go for resistors.    I never buy less than 20 at a time even if I only need 1 of a specific value.

Same here.  If it's from Tayda, I'll get 20 or 30 minimum.  If it's a weird value that Tayda doesn't carry, I'll get 10 from Mouser.  I also get my 100/200 lots from Mouser.   Mouser has the fancy ones, too.  ( those sausage resistors look pretty cool )
