So what the heck is C33 / R29 / D4 doing in the current mirror sub-circuit? It sort of looks like it might be "slowing down" the change in delay time.

I think it's to help keep the current drain from pin6 steady (and linear?) Keeping in mind that the delay pin keeps a steady voltage and operates by varying the current via a pot (under normal use). I'd have to go back to the diysb thread where I first saw it used.
