I have tried to get this nice and lush sounding ,like the MXR  and the E. Mistress  but cant get no matter how I adjust the trimmers  nothing, bias could have been a fixed resistor 50%, but he othe trimmers well it seems there needs to be another trimmer ?.overall it is bright like a modified small clone from Jeds Pedals .

should sound like trp trp trp ,I use a tech21 9v that stops the chirping , with my digitech 9v the chirping starts again this pedal can be difficult to bias more so than the mxr ,why 18v

Built the Kingmaker and can't quite get it to be as lush as the mxr or to get a little crazy the rate works well as does the manual ,the depth is ok and the feed back dosen''t quite work that well the MXR has a feed back trimmer ,my pcb has rev1 on it the pdf rev2 what is the difference .I built the stacked BF2 from PedalPCB so this should have been easy .There isn''t much wooshing as you would expect maybe an input issue  but again what is the difference between rev1 and rev2

General Questions / rabbit hole oscillator
July 02, 2021, 11:33:14 AM
I built a rabbit hole that is an oscillator rather than a fuzz ,checked all the components ,wired it at first just off the main board and had fuzz and oscillator so then I wired it as from the pdf with the daughter board  now only have oscillation, the runt worked the first time .only reading that is slightly out is Q3 C: 04.46v  B: 0.64v

PEDALpcb has a version of the zull called the muzzel ment to be the best noise gate of all

I built an early version a few years ago but had all the problems others had ticking ,noise etc I found uk-electronics version 'much better he used a different voltage regulator  the only thing wrong with the two I built was the board is horizontal,uk-electronics also made a pop  free ,oscillation free version of the Plexiclone Boneyard great version currently building a BF-2 clone at the moment Brian hint hint, have a go again at the two above,LM2940CT-15 Low Drop Regulator15V/ 1A TO220 –

I built ver2 and followed the diagram not connecting an extra wire to the chorus depth pot ,when I eventually connected the extra wire there was hum ,Ihave built the TDA version .With a switchmode PS there is hum with a regulated supply just a little but as was mentioned here mine sound more like a tremelo with low end thump in chorus more vibe mode is great Earlier in the year Scruffie pointed out that the voltage requirement of the respective BBD's is very close but not identical. In most cases it would be fine, but due to the slight variance in tolerance from one chip to the next from the same batch (similar to how a batch of 100uf capacitors can measure anywhere from 80 to 120 or the hfe of transistors vary from one to the next), there may be rare instances where one particular chip may sound like it isn't quite tuned in well enough (& no trimpot in the CE1 design to tune in the BBD). Simply swapping it for another chip would likely sort it out as it would only rarely happen within the extreme end of the range. Ideally a resistor or two could possibly be replaced with a trimpot to better take care of it so it never happens at all.
I think this  circuit does need a trim pot !!!!with a 25k intensity pot  it helps but not  a perfect chorus

I couldn't get my 2015 version to work no sound at all ,so I touched the under side of the pcb while I strummed and got sound ,my finger was an audio probe ,so I shorted a few resistors  r5 & r6 etc and got sparks then audio, the pedal fixed its self ,apart from distortion when I strum hard in v&m modes ,so I may change the J201 to a MPF102

Build Reports / Re: Man O War Deluxe

The repeats are super clean but a very different delay than the ABDX,so the repeats stay clean on the MOW but not on the Aqua boy deluxe ,the pdf says the MOW can get gritty after a few repeats.

I soldered two wires  one from the test point and one from ground with aligator clips to the multimeter probes that way you can make adjustments easier ,I  found getting the 69.6 and 2.6 ,leaving the auto at centre and tweaking the bias and mix is the best way trying to adjust the Auto is impossible so just leave at centre .I had boxed it without getting the settings right and it didn't sound great so I went back and set the C max and C range properly other wise the manuel and range will have limited use

My one had  repeats  only when I shook it -non boxed ,nothing worked otherwise,I think pcbs with solder mask hide bad traces or damage the traces ???,I removed a resistor that would show 0 then when the bypas switch was pressed its  real value ,I realized it was part of the buffered bypass ,damaged the trace removing it.

Thanks for the reply,I tried a new switch and have the same problem, ,I desoldered all the components and reflowed , I think its probably a bad trace, Brian has suggest this to someone in  the past  ,but who does a continuity test on a manufactured board before they start, only on a diy board ,

I built the Aquaboy 2016 and it work well but I had another board so I decided to build the aquapuss , while biasing the pedal it was quiet but I could hear oscillation etc it was very low output though there is no sound in bypass ,eventually I got loud hum coming from the pedal,if I bridge pin 3-4 of the op amp I do get delayed single ,I checked the resistor values and found r1 had no reading so I replaced it still no luck ,can I check the pedal with just the jack that would mean desoldering the 3dpt , i think the pads for the switching may be bad a bridge under the  silk screen I have checked for bridging and the IC readings are good ,dont want to bin it yet.I take it this is buffered bypass.

Build Brians Total recall with -24v,   and also try OP Electronics 9v deluxe memory man for your 2 pedal build if you go with the 3205 option like I did you can't go above 9v,but if you use the xvive 3005 you can go up to 12v ,I have populated my total recall but not finished it ,the OP MMD went into a 12 pedal multi effects box, it works great!!! size is smallish not very large and has 2 modulation switches,Brians aquaboy is a brilliant delay try one  for 2 pedals in a box as well.
