Nichicons, polystyrene, and Vishay-Dales? Plus... Smallbear Bare Bear Box, is it?
Seriously nice.
All on the spot but resistors! PRP metal
Sooo classy! Well done.
Thnx, i try to make something nice for my girl, she is 13, but all she is interested is music! Have all A in the school, play Cello in school orchestra and guitar and bass @ home! Still find time to make money in community taking care of pets and babies, so i try to make her the best i can! Took her to Orlando last summer to see Rolling Stones, got her tickets for Pearl Jam in Raleigh, building pedal board now, and next thing is Fender Tweed! I got her 2 acoustic guitars (Fender and Crafters) 2 electric (Washburn and Strat) and one Ibanez Bass! have 3 amps but all are toys! I dont play anymore, problems with fingers, but i can still solder! So, more projects are on the way
Perfect, just perfect. She's one lucky girl!
How did you do the graphics and font? Reverse etching and hand painting the raised parts?
Oy Vay! Johnny likey!
Teach her to play some early Black Sabbath, Toni Iommi would be proud!
That looks seriously amazing! I'm sure she will treasure it always. Nice work.
I'm curious about the graphic techniques as well.
Damn, that is some top notch work! It looks amazing, and it sounds like you've got a pretty amazing kid too.
Sorry to hear you can't play anymore.:(

Agreed, regarding the pedal and your daughter!!!
How DID you finish it? Raised lettering on the knobs, too???
That is beautiful. The knurled LED bezel is way cool.
I'm curious also... Are they really nice stickers? Or are you just an insane pro with a special pen????
Thnx Y'all for compliments ...
So to say, there is ne secret about design, is all Walmart spray paint, primer some dark silver metalic, and clear ....But i go only for Rust-Oleum brand !
BE SURE You drill all holes BEFORE you start finishing enclosure ...
First 2 coats of primer on sanded and degreased box , then sending again to smooth any marks from machining .. This SmallBear enclosure is nice, but man, really bad finish ... Also, be sure to leave every layer of spray painting to dry properly ...
After Smoothing primer go with first layer of paint, and then second .. allow couple days between layers ... paint must be really dry to sending before clear finish, and WET send paper is ONE and ONLY smoothing ... Now, before clear finish there is a STICKER ...
Just to let you know, i use to work like Painter, AirBrush designer, graphic designer and web page designer, so ... got some skills, but nothing really important for this pedal what ANY of you cant do it ...
So, i found original Dallas Rangemaster Box ....
... design original logo, and little modify - added outline ...
So, with designed vector logo, i CUT sticker on my Cinyl Cutter, a cheap one - Silhouette CAMEO : http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/ using The Paper Studio Self-Adhesive Vinyl - a GOLD one, ic not really Vinyl, is gold metal Self-Adhesive FILM, really think, but sticks good ... http://www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Die-Cut-Machines-Accessories/Metallic-Gold-Self-Adhesive-Vinyl/p/154222
Cut The sticker and apply on Enclosure, and on knobs ...
Now, clean and degrease gently with 409 and go for clear coat ... Applt 2-3 layers and dry between coats, so final wet sending and polishing can go without problems ...
Wet Sending neatly with 1500 or higher grit until you CANT feel raised sticker under clear finish ...
When you finish sending, finish will be mat, but you can polish by hand using MAAS Metal Polishing Cream ... http://www.walmart.com/ip/38068388?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101&adid=22222222227026236533&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=52592308631&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=84472980671&veh=sem
... actually, i use MAAS for ANY polishing ... on ANY surface and ANY finish ... using cotton cloth and finishing with microfiber cloth ...
So there You go ...
i attach .eps file and .pdf file for anyone who want to use same logo ....
Sweeeeeet!
Dude, thats a really great approach!
Just one more question:
Once you cut out the decal, how did you line up all of the little pieces on the enclosure?
I would go crazy just lining up the letters on "input" :D
AMAZING! WELL BUILT

Wow! I have no words, this is too amazing
Nice build & super-cool present from Dad!
I am most impressed with the marks around the controls knobs and the labels on the actual knobs. Pro or not, that is surgical work there!!!
Wow, that truly is fantastic. *starts slow clap*
Whoa!!!
Thnx guys :-)

All on the spot but resistors! PRP metal
I was just telling a friend that I wanted to make a pedal with PRP resistors. That's totally cool. Great looking build.
So, i decide to make an Old's Cool PCB, how i did it when i was 15, and to make this build fully DIY!
So, there you go(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160227/052b46c008a321fe37ec002863c0663f.jpg)

I actually find this one far more aesthetically pleasing, beautiful, and elegant than the rapper-fabulous first one :)
And then there's the inside... better not show your friend directly, the pedal might short out when he drools on it in admiration :D

Spectacular.
That last one is SO beautiful.

Ridiculous skills!
*bows humbly*
Both of these pedals are just so amazing!!!
This just keeps getting crazier. Countersunk holes on the topside of the PCB. The attention to detail is nuts. I'm looking into one of these printers though. I assumed all this stuff was those big plotter sized machines. This is just mind blowing

BTW, KLON clone ... :-) Tusk PCB ....
Superb work here. The polishing, all the little details, beautifully etching/drilling, turret board, mojo parts. These are truly top notch in every way. And you made the Bear Box look good!
Man, wow. That Rangemaster is incredible.
Well done, all of those are very, very well crafted, superb work throughout!
