Title: Quadrovibe
Post by: madbean on June 30, 2011, 10:42:14 PM
Here's my completed Quadrovibe. I love this thing!

I got my new camcorder in today so tomorrow is demo-rama time.

Note on this: it requires a Road Rage board, so anyone who has already placed and order for the QV board and does not have an RR, let me know and I will get you fixed up.

I will have docs and demos for the three new projects ASAP.

ok, so  1) docs are coming for this, and  2) be sure to order road rage when ordering?

The Quadrovibe documentation is now up: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/Quadrovibe/Quadrovibe.pdf

As the docs indicate, Smallbear has offered to carry the specific lamp used in this project. If you are already planning on getting parts for this project from SB, I do encourage you to get the lamp there, too. This may motivate Steve to carry odd parts for future MBP projects. I have no affiliation with SB, BTW.

I do have a very small number of the lamps on-hand, and I will be including them on international orders at no charge since they may be hard to get overseas. Note that you can use the 7371 lamp in place of the one I used...it's just a bit taller than the JKL which might make it hard to put the Quadrovibe in a 1590B.

Would it be possible to wire the vibe/trem switch to also engage both together?

Wow, I really want to build this one although I really like the tremolo of my AC30. :D

I don't think that is possible with a switch. One possible mod is to leave off the switch and T1 entirely and use a 10k pot wired as a variable resistor for R5. This would let you blend between the two modes, more or less.

I have not tried this....just occurred to me. There might be some crackling with that blend pot, though.
