Title: Deluxe Vitruvian Man
Post by: pickdropper on February 14, 2015, 04:45:49 PM
It feels like a long time since I've done a build for myself.  This is a build of Brian's really cool Dirtybaby board.  I built up the board and liked it enough that I wanted to box it so I could actually use it.

The graphic is based on Leonardo Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man.  It's obviously a modernized version; I'm quite pleased with the way the etch plate turned out.  I did my best to capture some of the little details of the original.  :-)

Very nice as usual, those 10mm lens with the threaded ring are perfect... need to re-stock on those.... also! those boss style knobs non-skirted, where did you grab them?

The knobs are from Small Bear.  I like them quite a bit, actually.  Going to grab some more on my next order.

I think he's still holding out for a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.   ;D

This gave me an excellent chuckle. Hopefully he'll get a big grant, but they're likely to just send him one of those rubber covers.

Great build too!

Awesome build.
I knew right away you didn't build it in likeness of me cause you would have certainly used this toggle if so:

DaVinci's painting was all about geometric proportions.  That toggle would've thrown them off.

Agreed.  Any thread that gets compared to this is up against stiff competition.

True, but we should not be too hard on would-be competitors.

Sure, but healthy competition can really get the blood flowing.

If vibrato mode lasts more than four hours, contact a physician.

I don't get it....

People were using somewhat subtle puns that referenced an erect penis. So, attempting to be funny, I skipped straight the subject at hand. Boner!

This thread is starting to remind me of that game in high school/college where the winner was the person who shouted "penis" the loudest in a public area.

Cool finish and über-clean guts!

You should get your vitruvian man one of these "switch caps" just in case...  or I'll see you building vitruvian childrens in 1590As in a near future

There is no such thing as safe switching. The only surefire way to be safe is to abstain from switching at all.
