This picture is definitely not the Megapedal I built for Nigel Honney-Bayes. That's my original Megapedal, which I started before VFE Pedals existed. I re-housed and modded several digital effects into one box, including a Roland MIDI foot controller.

The switching MCU used on the Megapedal builds (yes, there were two of them) used a slightly different pinout & program than what I've been using the past few years. The schematic/board file would need some updating to work with any MCUs sold on madbeanpedals. Here's a link to the current pinout:

The original plan on the Megapedal was to create a programmable switching system, but we weren't able to get that part fully working. On the two builds I did, I simply omitted the massive PIC controller and wired the switches directly to the controllers.

I assume you have the Eagle schematic & board files for this build. You can always go in and modify the switching section to match the existing pinout. With the way the circuit is setup, you would want to connect the J175 (soft switching) and BS170 (LED switching) to LO. It's counterintuitive, but both are setup to turn "on" when that pin is at 0V.

As for the enclosure, you definitely want the 15-degree slope. That's what I used.

Yes, this was something that affected one set of MCUs, but the current & previous sets work properly. I was told by the programmer that it could be a checksum error, though I've been re-ordering this MCU for a while. It is sort of an "easter egg" feature, as most of my customers don't even know about the feature.

I plan on setting up a simple tester circuit to test a few from each batch, so we don't have this programming quirk happen again.

Just to clarify, my Patron site is setup to charge per creation (per pedal project). You can back one project, and then you'll have at least 2 months to decide if you want to back the next one.

In short, you're not signing up long term - you can cancel/change your pledge at any time. I expect a lot of turnover from project to project, which is why I am doing no more than one pedal project every 2 months.

The primary goal is to free up some of my time to focus on development on products and educational resources. The more I can synthesize what I do as a business with what I do as a teacher, the better I can be at both.

I'm excited to be able to teach business & pedal building for a full school year starting in September, and this Patron page is key to funding those classes. I don't want to charge the kids to be in the course, which is what I'd have to do if I had the school district pay for the supplies.

I was wondering what shipping would be for that option, because with the $9 for one enclosure it's $3 but with the 24 enclosure option it didn't show a shipping fee at all, even when I changed the countries. So maybe it's free shipping for that?

Shipping will be added later, as noted in the $150 reward level description. I did this to save you money - charging a flat rate by country would only work if I charged everyone on the high end of the shipping cost range. To get a shipping estimate, go to https://postcalc.usps.com - enter the shipping destination (shipping from zip code 98354, if asked), select "Package", and put in a shipping weight of 12 pounds. These specs are estimates, but should give you a ballpark estimate of the shipping cost.

Yes, it's almost $100 USD to ship 24 enclosures to Australia from the USA. You should contact your local Hammond distributor, so they are aware of the upcoming enclosure size and will hopefully stock it.
