Title: March release schedule
Post by: madbean on March 15, 2013, 07:09:24 PM
Here's the list of stuff that I am having made. I am placing this order probably tomorrow, so the boards will arrive right at the end of the month.

Re-stock:
Cupcake, Green Bean, Nautilus, Retrograde, Wolfshirt, ZPSDX

New/Revised
Stage Fright, Harbinger One, Sparkplug Rev.1, FatPants2013

I am really happy to be done with the Stage Fright and Harbinger. Both of these went through a LOT of prototyping and revisions.

--------------------------------------

The Dirtbag 2013 is moving to April. Also, I will be doing a small revision on the Weener Wah for April. I don't know anything else beyond that at this point in terms of other projects.

I hope to grab a few of the ZPSDX myself, I hope that's a big part of the order! :)

I guess the stage fright won't be part of phaser month that for me then

Hi , I was wondering what was happening with the sharkfin .
Title: Re: March release schedule
Post by: madbean on March 16, 2013, 12:56:51 AM
I think I accidentally deleted it from the Projects Page, but it is still definitely happening. My hope is to wrap up that and the Mood Ring reverb for next month but no promises as of now.

Looking forward to the new phaser and fatpants...

Are you planning on restocking the Weener wha soon? Promissed a good friend I'd build him one...

Thanks Madbean
Title: Re: March release schedule
Post by: madbean on March 17, 2013, 11:22:00 PM
Yes. I'm making a couple of changes to the Weener to reflect the feedback from some of the builds here. The Peak and Filter trimmers have been removed and there will be a spot to use a rotary switch for three different filter caps instead. Also, there will be a gain trimmer on the input transistor. It's pretty near the same size/dimensions...just a few parts shifted around.

Any chance of a peak at the build docs for the Stage Fright and Harbinger so can put an order together?

Thanks for these, they have been eagerly anticipated here!

I can't wait.

Noticed one goof on the doc. 47K is listed twice on the shopping list and looks like one of them should be 4K7.
Title: Re: March release schedule
Post by: madbean on March 26, 2013, 03:16:16 PM
Thanks for the catch.  I updated the doc. It should be (10) 47k and (16) 4k7 resistors.
Title: Re: March release schedule

22k is also listed twice

Thanks. It should be (2) 22k resistors. I've made the correction on the doc.

Here's a little more to whet your whistle. Pickdropper just sent me this pic of my Harbinger artwork, etch up and ready to rock. This was a result of the little benefit we did last year...I won his laser engrave auction!

I had to look back to when I last used a LM13700 and it was the Autobahn pedal, I didn't have any noise problems using that chip. It was really cheap as well :)

Shipped! The sale and new boards will be available on the Projects Page tomorrow. Today I want to finish the two remaining docs (FatPants and Sparkplug). I'll have the PCBs on-hand by Friday.

Demos to be done: Harbinger, new Sparkplug, ZPDX. I probably will not demo the new FatPants since it is mostly identical in tone to the previous version.

Stage Fright and older FatPants demos are here:

It's cheaper for us international types to do separate <$50 orders and have them shipped via 'flats'.

Sparkplug rev1 doc is up: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/Sparkplug/Sparkplug_rev1.pdf
Barber pedals are really good, I've had two of them in use for years. Also I like my Sparkplug V1. So I'd be curious to know what Mr. Barber himself thinks about the Sparkplug.

Ha ha. He might think "wanker"....or maybe not. I had a Super Sport for a while. Got it as a "second" even though it was pretty flawless. Really wish I had kept it.

I'll get a demo done of rev.1 up ASAP. I've got it boxed and ready to go. Today will be a pretty busy one already though.

You know, when I placed my order, I didn't realize that the Madbean guitar picks were cryogenically treated.

You really need to advertise that more, Brian.   ;D

Ordered and errm, ordered ;)

It's cheaper for us international types to do separate <$50 orders and have them shipped via 'flats'.

Yeah...I hope this is working okay for international people. It seemed to be the best compromise to keep shipping prices as low as I can. But, if it becomes a source of frustration, people need to let me know. A 2oz flat cost 2.90 to ship most places overseas which I think is very reasonable. Most orders come out to 2oz using the 7x10" envelopes, which themselves weigh 0.5oz. I really hate these new USPS prices.

I'm thinking we should collectively publish an article of "BS marketing techniques" used for guitars and electronics...

This is for stereo, but I am certain it works on guitars and pedals as well:

Sadly, the company selling them has long since taken it down.

That is exactly what I wanted to see.  I was wondering what your order pile looked like.

BS marketing?  Ah man.

I added a pick to this order because i thought the frozen pick would go well with my Dean Markley Cryogenic activiated Blue Steel nicklel plated strings.

It's one of those things. 'tis not a problem at the moment. The UK post office have done something similar today... Not looking forward to the next package I need to send.
