Title: Enclosures: Polycarbonate vs ABS
Post by: brokenbones on February 11, 2020, 04:25:33 PM
Has anyone worked with polycarbonate enclosures? I'm getting ready to build a 3 button footswitch with square buttons. Is it easy to drill and file? I could use ABS but the polycarbonate looks a little more durable.

polycarbonate is combarably pretty. This is the stuff CDs are made out of, if I remember my studies correctly.
ABS is also known as impact resistant polystyrene. It's relatively tough and should be better suited for pedals (stomping and all). It's easy to drill and file however, especially if you're used to aluminium
