Habs are currently leading 3-0 in first round against the Ottawa Senators! lml
Been really tight so far, yesterdays game from middle of 3rd period until they scored in OT almost got the best out of me.. so much stress. haha!
Otherwise, my favored team in the west is the BlackHawks, always liked them since i was a youth...
Happy playoffs to anyone who's enjoying hockey!

Caps fan here. It's already been an up and down roller coaster for us.
Hawks fan here.
I'm rooting for a Hawks vs Habs final, but it's a LONG way until then. There are a lot of good teams in the way.

Watched the high lights of those games, very good play going on!
Right now i'm just under shock about the numbers of check per games in the Habs vs Sens round... whoever gets out of that one will be bruised.
I'm surprised there hasn't been more bruising in the Ducks vs Jets games. I thought those were going to be a bloodbath.

True that, also hoping that the Flames burns down the Canucks....
I think (hope) the Ducks will be in tough for it for the next two games, the White Out in Winnipeg will likely be insane (now the Jets just have to learn how to play with a lead).
Flames manhandled the 'nucks last night.
The 8 yr old fan in me really wants to see the Flames vs. the Jets somewhere down the road, but I don't think that will happen.
Course, I always thought the Habs and the Sens were the same team.

See you in the eastern conference finals again Rej. 😉
That is a pretty killer habs jersey (sweater) Btw.
I'm hoping for a Rangers-Islanders series! Gotta finish off these "Dirty Birds" first though.
Richard
Damnit, lost game 1-0.... next game is in Mtl... hopefully it will be good for us, Anderson was a wall and our attack was'nt efficient.. mostly did'nt heard of Paciorety tonight.

I've watched all the game highlights of the Rangers, playing some great hockey... seriously, something to be scared of.
And yeah, don't be shy to take those Pens out.
Yeah I thought the habs were going to sweep the Ottawa series.
We just won so 3-1 in the series. Hopefully we can finish them off Friday at MSG.

Ouch, Hawks blew it. I hope the coach keeps Darling in goal, but we'll have to see.
5th game tonight against the Sens... in MTL. Should be interesting as the Sens have gained a lot in confidence in the last game....
Grew up in NJ a Devils fan... but being Nashville the last 8 years, I've caught the Predators bug. I know it's extremely unlikely with us heading to Chicago... but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that we can somehow squeak by the Blackhawks.

All 4 games have been closed. Could have gone either way. I'm a Sens fan (grew up in Ottawa). If the Sens don't win, I want Montreal to win the Stanley Cup and bring the cup back to Canada, where it belongs. Great hockey.

I guess the question would be with the NHL original six, how many non-Canadians were even playing anywhere in the league?

Wow I knew that the majority were Canadian but that graph is is an amazing representation!
It makes me wish hockey was bigger here. I remember I was a kid in South Carolina when the Whalers moved from Hartford and became the Hurricanes. I also remember laughing and thinking "what's a hockey team doing in the south there's no ice here." Lol
Fast forward to now living in central New York and having actual winters and ponds to play on I don't know how I lived my life before hockey. It is the ultimate team sport.

Hockey is a blast to play and playing ball hockey on the road, in a gym, wherever is as much fun, maybe more, don't have to worry about that minor detail of moving around on skates. Great fun!

Yeah man! I do enjoy the skating aspect though. I used to roller blade when I was a kid so the switch to ice wasn't that bad. I mean by no means am I an excellent skater but I noticed I didn't fall down as much as last winter. 😎
Rangers are going to Round Two!!!
So either the Capitals or the Islanders. Looking like the Caps at the moment. But who knows it is the playoffs.
Damn Rej! That is a rough one to take. Sorry Man!

Yeah i love to skate too, i'm happy to just get out on the ice and skate for hours. For the summer it's roller blades/inline skates, we have a 4-5k no-vehicle-loop at the end of the street so i do that three times. There use to be an unused, empty parking lot nearby that you could work on turning and backwards skating, has a slope so you go down forwards and up it skating backwards... hockey season rolls around and you're ready!
dave
Nice win for the Sens. Anderson was great. Ottawa didn't outplay Montreal by much, if at all. They had great goaltending and were putting good screens on Price. Game six should be a great hockey game.

Man that sounds awesome! Last summer I grabbed a pair of Alkali inline skates and was heading to the park almost daily. But now we are on a dirt road with no place to skate within walking distance. Hoping to get into town at least once a week to skate a little bit. Probably the same night as open jam. A bit of hockey and a bit of jamming out sounds like a great night. Lol
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll probably get back at inline skating this summer as i've got in a social hockey club for next winter, garage league, playing in the C and B class... if i don't get back at skating this summer, jumping on the ice will be my death next winter.
I think the Blues are done... again. Down 3-2 heading to Minnesota will be tough. We seem to exit in the first round quite frequently these days.

Sorry about the loss, mcallisterra. I can't quite figure the Blues out. They were built to win this year. Scary team, but couldn't quite put it together. It'll be interesting to see if they keep Hitchcock around. A lot of people are second guessing him keeping Allen in net after game 5. Allen let in two pretty horrific goals today. Elliott was a bit better when he finally got in there.

Hitch will be gone, and I think Oshie too. I'd also be surprised if Elliott stays after the way they've messed him around the last few years.
I want the Sabres to hire Hitchcock. He is a great coach. I think that making big changes based on playoff results is dumb: the blues regular season dominance is no fluke, but the playoff losses are at least half luck.
This does mean the Sabres are picking 2nd, no worse than 22nd and 31st

If I were them, I'd work hard to keep Oshie. I think they'll probably let Elliott go if they believe Allen is really their future. They've never really believed in Elliott anyway.
If I were them, I'd move Ott. I know he's a gritty veteran, but he hurts them an awful lot taking stupid penalties. He doesn't seem to get in opponents heads as much as he wants anymore.

Hawks are in for a lot of changes this offseason as well. Even if they want to keep it together they can't because of salary cap issues. Odds are Sharp is gone and maybe Crawford. I predict they will have more youngsters playing next year.

Damnitol!!! haha
I was hoping that we would'nt play against them, jinx'd we are....
If the Habs can put in 2-3 goals per game, we have chances to take it over, if in the 2 and less goal per game... we're out!
In the first round none of our usual scorers did their job... Pacioretty was quiet, Plekanec playing like if he's scared of being bruised... it's the rookie, support player and Price that made us win that first round.
Hopefully they'll have fixed that scoring issue from the big guns and it will go well.
Well, the Habs had trouble with the Sens in the regular season too and it worked out OK.
Playoffs are a different animal. But yeah, you need Pacioretty strong.

Agreed...
I also don't understand why they have'nt brought back Gonchar in the def line.. when he was there our PowerPlay was productive, we got 2 goals out of 20 power play against the Sens... that's miserable.
That first game against the Bolts was a bit of a deception... i mean, we've outplayed them for 2/3 of regular time, out shooted them... but AGAIN!!!! was'nt able to put it in. Pacio goal was flaky as fawk... but it went in...
I'm very happy of what i saw still, but they have to find a way to put that damn puck in the opponents net... jeebus...!
