I know Danelectro has used it in one of their echos, and I swear I've seen at least one older DIY design using it ( http://www.sdiy.org/destrukto/vc-echo.html ). I imagine its largely a case of "what on earth do I do with this 40 pin monstrosity" in the DIY world, not to mention its harder to lay hands on than the 2399.
The 2395 has a longer delay, and a cleaner sound to it. I've got a module that uses it.
Harder to work with, though. More real estate is needed, plus that additional RAM chip.
The 2399 is a good compromise, for most guitar applications.
Awesome! Thanks for the share.
