Yay!

As usual, I'm late to the party, but I was going to add to the chorus that I would happily prepay for Dirtbag DLX boards, but then I saw Brian's post! So excited! Can't wait to send you my $$$

=)

Okay, no point in going against the tide. I will set up a pre-order for the next batch as well as the LaserWolf. Thanks for your vote of confidence guys!

So sweet about the Laserwolf! I hope my order went through *cross fingers*

What was the surf-rock one that was up there? I was looking forward to that one, but I already forgot what the name was again.

Since the stock setting for this trimpot is only 1/4 the way up, I would use the 20k trimpot.

Steve.

Okay, cool, thanks Steve. I didn't see that setting anywhere, is it in the PDF and I just missed it? I couldn't find out where it mentioned the setting of the trimpot.

I'm wondering, since I'm out of both 25k and even 50k... So should I use a 100k or 20k?

Anyone who's built one got a suggestion?

Consider posting any new available projects on your main page.  To make sure there are no new projects I typically read through the project names to see if there is one I don't recognize

Yes! ditto this! I do the same thing!

I know this won't be popular, but I might suggest no release dates, implied or explicit. That removes false expectations for us, and I imagine takes the pressure off for you. We'd still like to hear what you're working on, but you could release as fluidly as you like without folks feeling like they're missing out.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I held off on posting to this thread until I saw lincolnic and others mention the release dates.

I think that all of us are so incredibly grateful that you're doing what you do, and that you put SO MUCH of yourself into MBP and to making MBP a really top notch place with a great community.

But I, like others, have been bummed by slipped release dates. I would much rather either hear about the background story (even in the smallest littlest way) to what you're up to than have a hard date that has to be changed out.

And I should say that I COMPLETELY understand how this happens. I have a couple of fairly simple builds that for friends that have been delayed over a year, due to life getting in the way, parts supply problems, etc. So I totally get it. But when you made your post, this was the number one thing that popped to mind.

Thanks for everything you've done Brian!

Ugh, yeah, I've bought a lot of BBDs in the past year, and a vast majority of them were packaged just as you mentioned, in a tube with tape on both ends.

And is there any reason to test MN3005 (or rather, are you planning on it?)

Hmm, good question. My recommendation would be to just have LOTS of transistors to try, whatever they may be.

My favorite MKI I've built so far was with OC71s, but it took me MAAAANNNNNY devices before I found a set that sounded good without too much noise.

No! Never admit that! ;-)

These days, I spend more time building/planning to build than I do playing guitar... that's the damn shame that I need to correct.

Global Annoucements / Dirtbag Deluxe 3?

Okay, I am just too excited to be patient and wait to see it pop up on the Projects page... how close are we?

I finally acquired (I hope) enough MN3005s, so I just had to post and ask.

Where we at B?

Hey guys,

Someone mentioned synthcube, and I had seen old threads about them that kind of got me all turned around.

Anyone want to give me the current low-down, if they know?
Do they have real MN3005s?

I read on diysb that one dude uses three ring binders with plastic sport card inserts. My old Pokemon and baseball card binders are going to be converted to holding resistors, caps, trannies and diodes on my next order. Just gotta label them.

When I first started out, I did exactly that, until the first time I picked up the binder upside down and it all went everywhere. But then I eventually grew out of the binders anyhow. So my only advise would be to watch which side is up ;-)
