Thinking about buying a resistor kit off of ebay. Good? Bad?

Build Reports / Uproar: Almost done.
February 11, 2011, 11:07:01 PM
The wiring for input, output, and ground hasn't been completely cleaned up or soldered in place yet, since I am missing 2 capacitors, but other than that, the project is finished.

ignore the electrical tape on the battery clip, it's just a place holder, lol

I just got what I thought was my BOM for my Serendipity build. I forgot 2 1k resistors, a 4k7 resistor, a 470n cap, and a DIP8 socket. uuuuuuuuuugh. On the flip side, I apparently ordered an entire bag of .039 capacitors...so now I sit with my Riot missing a 1 uf and a .033 uf, and my Serendipity missing 4 simple components and a socket for my OPA2134. What a blast, lol

Where/how/what do you recommend I start purchasing in bulk?

Where'd you get the BC109s? I've been looking for a couple to put in my wah as well.

Brian, if the order load is so high that you can't even respond to PMs and emails on a timely fashion, I don't think too many people would complain; at least I wouldn't. I'd much rather receive the product on a timely fashion rather than wait 3 weeks for the pcb because you're creating DIY videos. If I run into a problem, that's what the forums are for. The videos would be a good side project when time allows.

Of course, this is my opinion.

For the most part, I really have no complaints. The quality of your product is outstanding, and the layout of the documents is thorough and easy to follow. Perhaps the only thing I could suggest is take the universal wiring diagrams in the Tech section and move them to a more visible location, i.e. somewhere on the front page.

If anything, I would, with time allowing, of course, finish the madbean website, i.e. the learn and pedals sections. The learn section could be an extremely valuable resource for those who are trying their hand at DIY pedals for the first time; I know I was intimidated the first time around as well.

Other than that, though, I really have no complaints. I am extremely satisfied with madbean pcbs and the forum, and am glad I found this place.

You got what is probably the same chip, only made by Texas Instruments instead of New Japan Radio.  I'm guessing the ones you got will work fine.  The NJM chips linked in the build document are only 40 cents each though, so you may have overpaid a bit.

Yeah, stupidly, I clicked the link after I placed the order. Oh well, live and learn, I guess.

So I just ordered the BOM for the Uproar, I'm praying I got the right Opamps. This will work fine, right?

VIBE AND REVERB!!!  ;D ;D

Brian, I am both happy and sad that I found this site. Happy, because I have found building pedals to be immensely gratifying and fun, and sad, because this is killing my wallet!

When I have my delay on, but boost off, the repeats are fine, but when I hit the boost pedal, it cuts my repeats down to barely more than 1 or 2 repeats. Any ideas what would cause this? Unfortunately, I don't have an effects loop, since I'm playing out of a 67 bassman and a blues junior. Anyone else have anything like this?
It's a Biyang AD-8 delay with the PT2399 chip with a fat pants boost

Requests / Reverb?
January 18, 2011, 06:10:23 AM
First post here; first off, let me thank all of you for helping me out. I've learned so much by lurking, and just finished my first two pedals, the Fat Pants and Serendipity.

I was wondering, is there a DIY reverb in the works? I would love to take  a stab at it, but unfortunately GGG is the only place i know of that sells a diy reverb.
