Build Reports / Re: Queen of Bone (QoB)

Wow, its almost painfully clean inside and out! Very nice.
No one would have ever guessed it was your first time with envirotex...
I am just about to throw up my hands and give up on enclosure etching, and your technique comes fairly close to an etched look....
I may have to try that.

Holy COW! That's definitely the most rugged "1st build" I have ever seen. It isn't bullet proof, its nuclear holocaust proof! Nice job!

As usual, incredibly clean inside and I especially love the ICBM name and nod to "Dr Strangelove".
Not sure what you do to get your boards so freakishly clean, but man, those things look clean enough to eat off of!

I spray my boards with flux remover and then use a toothbrush on them. While it really helps clean them up a lot, they're nothing like yours...

Hey, wait a minute.....no natural aluminum knobs?
Okay, who is this really?
Seriously, that's an incredible build!

That, my friend, is a very tidy build.

What an absolutely slick pedal, inside and out!
The gold labeling is a great match for the enclosure color. Is it a decal ?

Build Reports / Re: My first couple of vero builds

As a total pedal beginner, I am envious, as I so want to get to the point where I can do vero builds. All in good time, I guess.

Gledison is correct, chemical incompatibility is the likely culprit and the safest bet is using the same kind of paints and clear coats. You might contact mamoth and ask what they powder coat with, then use the same thing for labeling & topcoat.

That's like the 3rd or 4th one she has helped you with, isn't it ?
Someday, when she leaves home, you are going to have to get one of those display cases and enshrine her pedal artwork for posterity.

Wait...
...Can Hear that crashing sound? That's me throwing my soldering iron in the TRASH! lol

Un-freaking-believable. After that much time and effort, I am glad it works.
I too could not get the link to work...

Open Discussion / Re: Mounting pedals to a board
October 24, 2013, 01:54:36 AM
Hm...the only problem is if you want to change out pedals.
What if you still screw the bicycle chain link to the bottom of the pedal, but have the material that the pedals sit on be something perforated, with lots of holes. Instead of screwing/bolting the chain link to the pedalboard, you could Just pop rivet the chain link to the board. Then if you want to change something out, cut the aluminum pop rivet, relocate the pedal and pop rivet it again. Just a thought.

......you can see tiny bubbles...
Sorry the only time I see tiny bubbles is when I am watching either Don Ho or Lawrence Welk! ;D
I don't see any bubbles, and I think it looks great all around, especially the graphics. I'm at work, so I can't listen to the sound clip, but will when I get home.
Be proud of that build, man! I envy someone that can design a working pcb and I hope to be able to do so someday too.
Nice build.

I too am not generally a "swirl" guy, but this one is primo, as is the rest of the build.
You're a brave man, putting that pedal out on that window ledge like that...

I dig the name. Pink Cave Dweller  8)

And here I thought I was the only one with a juvenile enough of sense of humor to laugh at that!
