So I was thinking about my Tonepad FSH1 and my nearly complete sharkfin and I got to wondering, would it be possible to design a Sample/Hold only pedal?  All designs I have seen are variations of the FSH and as a result combine the 2 effects.  I really like the sample/hold effect but the filter portion is done so well with many other pedals.  I thought it would be cool to squeeze it into a 1590B or even a wah shell such that the wah pot would control speed.  Is this a wasted thought? Could it be done?  I did see that the Music from Outer Space website has a Sample/hold board but this appears to be an add-on to a synth. http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/index.php?MAINTAB=SYNTHDIY&PROJARG=MICROSAMPLEANDHOLD/MICROSAMPLEANDHOLD.html&VPW=1385&VPH=535

I think those davies clones are notorious for that.  I have had quite a few from various sources, Mammoth and Tayda fail the same way.  I've thought about just putting some super glue in a portion of the hole and then after it dried trying to re-thread them with the screw.  Another thing I haven't gotten around to trying.

a couple options.

1) Get some spacers(washers) between the enclosure and lid, in the corners where the screws go.
2) Take a dremel and slowly and carefully grind some material off the inside of the lid in the area around the lamp.  Whether this works depends on how much interference you have.

Different muffs for different stuffs.  Ya know what I'm saying?  When the muff matches the drapes it's a very nice thing ;). unless of course you are a fan of hardwood floors.  I don't discriminate!

I'm torn between my recent mudbunny pharaoh, civil war, and mayo builds.  But I think I have to give the nod to the pharaoh for versatility.

Yeah after I posted I saw they have oil based ones now.  Are those like the rattle paint pens?

So I really want to doodle up a pedal with multi-colored fine tip sharpies.  What would be the best method to preserve it?  Is there a particular clear coat that is recommended?

Never use a step bit or drill press.  All done by hand. I start by punching a dimple in the location I want. Then with a small bit I work myself up to the bigger size I want.  Probably done about 30 enclosures and only had a bit hop once.  Of course I have now doomed my next enclosure.  :o

I'm hoping I can make something work with a Raspberry Pi running Sooper Looper headless.  http://essej.net/sooperlooper/

I have actually found my best looping workflow comes from using my MPC1000 with JJOS.  But this isn't the best alternative for live looping.

I love depressing music.  I am not afraid to admit that I love this very sad despondent music, stuff that can make me cry.

But I love the quirky too...

Parenting is more of a full time gig.  This  from the father of 3 boys under 13.  Grand parenting I believe is a hobby however.

Open Discussion / A populated PCB is like a small city
August 03, 2013, 02:51:36 PM
Whenever I am soldering a pcb and populating it with components I feel as though I am building a small metropolitan city.

That is all, just a random thought as I solder on a Saturday morning. :)

Very cool!  And all the best of luck!

I have not tried laser.  I don't have access to one.  Stuck with ink jet for the moment. Curious about the smallbear paper as well.

Well I'm going  to get some different paper, I think testors quality control may be the issue.  Early on I had no issues, but it seems like this new pack just sucks.
