I'm looking to make a pretty basic hall reverb pedal that basically only needs hall size and volume controls. Is there any board you guys could recommend since we don't have one here at home here madbean?

I built the BYOC reverb. It's pretty dang cool. I recommend that one.

waiting patiently for teh moodring

I'd love to play the moodring too but I'm being asked to build a custom multiboard thing for someone including a barebones reverb.

Aaaa... I'd love to build one, but for the price of a TC Electronic Hall of Fame....  I'm gonna buy one instead methinks :-\

Likewise, cracking reverb that.

Yep, a ton of folks swear by the BYOC reverb. Haven't built it myself, but have only read others commenting on it.

General Guitar Gadgets has one too. I don't know how similar it is to the BYOC but it uses the same Belton brick from what I can tell.

I was hoping to find something without a brick similar to the solid state pedals like tc electronics

No project available currently. You could try using th FV-1 chip and creating your own digital project.

Check DIY Stompboxes for Merlins 'Equinox' Reverb, uses 2 x PT2399, pretty sweet for the circuit simplicity.

The FV 1 looks interesting but its kind of way overkill for what I was looking for. These boards are a lot bigger than I was expecting. hmmm It might be harder to make this double board build than I thought.

I like my BYOC reverb, it does sound good and the tone knob is a nice addition. I still need to do the "less reverb" mod, the way it is it really takes over on almost any setting.

I think it depends on whether you want to DIY it for fun or to save some £.

I have an EHX Cathedral Reverb and its amazing.

The DIY projects I have seen have no way near the level of flexibility of the EHX Cathedral'verb.

DIY DSP projects just don't compare with the cost and flexibility of buying an off the shelf pedal IMO.

I really want to go for the BYOC reverb. But for the price is it the same/as good/comparable to the EHX pedals?

I know of these in the same price range:

I really like that the BYOC has the tone control and dwell. Are there any others I am missing out on looking at?
