So I have a really neat little Melody archtop that has two single coil pickups (with 2 leads and 1 ground on each for some reason) And the switching consists of 2 DPDT sliders, 1 Volume and 1 tone.

I'm curious if there's any thoughts on wiring this? I had considered wiring it ala Jagstang but the Jagstang uses the 4 lead switches.

Right now what I'd like to do is wire it so that each switch basically functions as a pickup on/off point. But is there a way to wire it so that it can have one function as a phase switch as well? There probably is I'm just a dummy when it comes to this particular kind of thing.

Any thoughts?

The TC electronic is nice for ease of use. It would be nice to have some more variety so I'll see what I can find in the Tenebrion, I don't have parts to build anything but I might just get the parts I need and build that single one. thanks for the suggestions.

So I'm looking for a nice simple reverb for my church acoustic rig. Was curious if anyone else here has one that they've used alot, not looking to do overly etheral but it'd be a nice ability. My current sound is just so dry so I want to spruce it up a bit.

I currently use an LR Baggs M1A with a Para DI going into the PA. The DI has an effects loop and that is where I'd be using the reverb.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Less Delay in Mix?

So I've been building some more delays as of late, and I'm wanting to make one that has less of the delay on the mix knob. I've been using 100K pots, would I get less delay in the mix if I upped the value to something like 250K?

I like the graphic on the meathead, curious though, did you wrap the leads of each component around the other and then solder? Or did you just use helping hands and hold them together?

Haven't been posting much due to work, but it's great to be back at it! I am an addict so here's a single germanium boost. Really close to a rangemaster but with a few tweaks to open up the sound and make it less of a treble boost and more rounded out. Just gotta love that asymetrical grit on a nice loud amp.

Is the jumper on C17 something in the range of 48 gauge wire?  :o

That is sick, makes my eyes hurt (in a good way) just looking at it

So with some fiddling I managed to get rid of the crackling, now it just doesn't work at all. Still working on it in my spare time.

reflowing the solder seemed to do the trick, apparently there was a bridge or something somewhere that was crossing from the positive side and making some noise. still more work to do

it is bright, on an amp like an Egnater which has some serious bass it provides a nice balance. If it's too spiky I had some good success with subbing the .0068 input cap with a .01uf, still gives a good bit of treble boost but doesn't cut too much.

My notes say that Q2's E (acting as the collector) should be biased to -4.6

Here is the vero layout, pay real close attention to the location of the emitter an base of both transistors, they are marked with the E and C for both. Remember that Q2 is flipped on it's head so the emitter is functioning as the collector. Also note the jumper on the trimpot

Keep in mind that this is a bright pedal, you may find it lacking in output (with a 10kA pot unity is roughly 2PM) but keep in mind that it doesn't need to have a high amount of boost in order to do it's job, people often interpret "volume" as just being heard.

I didn't have any extreme examples of germanium to try, as far as which PNPs to use I found that for Q1 a hfe of around 80-90 and lkg of .10 to .14 sounded good with a Q2 hfe of around 94-100 and lkg of .17-.20 sounded best, I don't have a ton of transistors to try but experiment and see what sounds good to your ears. Both transistors in this one were AC125s

The trimpot should be adjusted to give 3v on the C of Q1. Less than that and you lose volume and the effect doesn't work well and you get a much nastier saturation. This will vary slightly depending on your choice of transistors and hfe's. I'll put up a short video demo later today hopefully.
