Title: SourceCheese (alanp Horace build)
Post by: LaceSensor on September 19, 2013, 02:01:26 PM
Hi Gang

Here is my build based on the Horace board from AlanP.
Its the Lovetone Cheese Source essentially (Fuzz and OD in one package)
Mine is build with the FX loop as per the original, hence the 1590XL case

Thanks for making the  project open source, AlanP.

Ooo, I like that one :) Glad that this one worked for you!

Any sonic difference to your old one?

Not hooked it up to my full setup. Cheese sounds good,

I think there might be a mix up on the increasing bass modes on the brown,
Twank also sounds a bit less twangy.

This looks awesome. Is the effects loop just sitting between the fuzz and the OD or is there more going on?

Its between the two pedals.

It means you can run it OD > Fuzz, or Fuzz > OD, or you can use each effect independently / have both at different points in your chain.

Cool build dude.

How do you rate both circuits?

The cheese is better than the source
the brown is a really low gain OD. Nice for boosting a tube amp
They sound cool together though.
Altogether very vintage sounding.

Lovely build, LS.  I like the control layout and how it fits with he graphics.  Clean wiring, too.
