Title: Clusterfuzz / DAM Ezekiel
Post by: soldersqueeze on November 17, 2017, 07:52:35 PM
This was built mainly because I had the parts, but i'm starting to think it could be a really useful, beastly pedal.

Wiring looks sprawled but it avoids crosstalk nicely.
Fairly boring guts due to board mounted 9mm pots. Makes for cute little boards though-

I guess there are worse brands to be boxed with than D*A*M.  ;D

Very cool! Clever way to do the pots.

And rocking the eels!

The mounted pots and vero mounting tab is genius! Great work.

More proof vero CAN be done neatly. I love the 'I built it cuz I could' mindset...I imagine that drives a good bit of builds amongst our bunch.

Didn't even notice this. And I definitely agree!

Wow yeah that's really great! It makes me want to do a big vero project like that!
Really awesome build.

Thank you very much for the kind words, it was a fun experiment!
I think this method would scale up well- although adding pots (and maybe layers of pots) for bigger projects would start to get a little confusing, it's something you can nail down with a diagram before hand and triple check it before you start. I was convinced at least one of the controls would end up working backwards, and I must've checked my wiring layout 25 times before I started :) I think if you use low profile caps any layout would be fair game.
Bolting vero to the case is my new standard, feels much more secure than anything else I've found. Although now I said that the bolt will come loose and somehow snap the board or something...

I hope you don't mind! Obviously I would never sell this pedal or make one for anyone else.
My build sounds great so I'm sure the real thing kills it. Also, kudos for making the production run so beautiful! One of the prettiest pedals out there in my eyes.

I've definitely done some builds because I had a clever name or theme for it. Do I need a sixth fuzz? No—but I do need a Tônmängler!

P.S. Very clean for vero. What size enclosure did you use?

It's an Eddystone 188x120x57mm from Maplin in the UK. Others on this board could probably fit another 6-7 effects in there. It's like an empty swimming pool :)
