I just bought a hot air gun and heat shrink tubing... before I melt something anyone have any experience tips?

Stopped trying to be an artist. STEEL BABY STEEL!  Nothing original here but I'm happy!

I have a switched 23db boost in one of my guitars. 
I would like to built a simple clean boost pedal for my other guitars that don't have it.

If I built a Bacon Bits, what mods or op-amp would I use to try to make it as clean and tone neutral as possible?
Is there another project that would be better suited for the job?

I have some steel enclosures and was wondering if any of you guys have any tips about sanding, finishing, drilling etc. I've only used aluminum.

Is there any reason to use BURR-BROWN OPA2604 op-amps say for a Compressor or other clean effect? Really expensive but specs look interesting.

if anyone knows of any electronic text that would help to read schematics (not just symbols) and specifically how different sections are delineated I would really appreciate it.

Or is this a stupid question?

 
Will this effect the gain of the circuit or is it effecting the tone only?

I changed components in the tone section to:

R20 = 4K7
R23 = 1K8
C16 = 3N3

Why is it that my Colosulus build and my Porkbarrel both seem to go outside of the area where there is flanging or chorus on the top of the LFO sweep regardless of trimmer settings?  Hmmmm...

I hear it on DYI demos a lot but not so much on manufactured pedals. Doesn't sound bad, just not quite right.
Must learn why...

In the shopping list one of the 1uF caps is a Tant. But there is no indication as to where that might go.. Looks like four box caps and an Electro in C10?

My ZPSDK feedback control is into runaway at 12 noon.   I would like to tame it so runaway is closer to 3 o'clock to wide open.
Do I want to lower the feedback pot's resistance to get less feedback?

Everything is working fine, what would cause a Zero Point Deluxe v1 to have only one repeat when on the first mode setting "analog"?

When you are making a PCB, is the Anode usually the square pad or the round one? I would think the Anode is square as it is + ....right?

Where are you guys finding right angle PCB mount dual gang and reverse taper pots? I found some but wrong taper and slotted shafts etc.

I've been looking for Brass. Thin brass, pieces of brass or anything I can use to get a better finished enclosure other than decal, vinyl sticker, etc. I can't seem to find anything here in Southern California other than large order giant companies.. Anyone have a suggestion to help me? I've been considering dumpster diving at metal working plants but...uh well you know..
