I'm building mine atm, but I have to redo some of the drillings before I can proceed. I have to say I'm quite anxious to encounter the same problems... hope that everything turns out as planed. I'll keep you updated when I finish, hopefully in the next 2-3 days.

I've got exactly the same problems as sidebernie. The upper octave is just a fuzz/distortion like sound without any octaving and the lower octaves seem to be hopping up and down in tone and are really sensitive (I just have to slightly touch my strings to make it go mad).
I used the upper octave mod (leaving C12 and 10n for C10) and used 4013BP ICs. Is there any other way of fixing the problem than switching D1&D2 to 1N34a? I don't have any left and it's a pain to get those.

Thanks. Just what I did.

Still need some time to figure out what I did wrong. The board works now, but the upper octave is fuzzy like hell and the octave downs sound pretty much alike and don't produce a steady tone...

No, you still connect the ground of the dc jack to the input jack. Just leave off he battery clip and use a mono input jack instead of a stereo jack.

thanks, that's basically what I've done. I'm still using the stereo jack, but just haven't connected anything to the ring. Sleeve is still grounded and the tip is the signal.

Just finished and gave it a first try! Doesn't work yet ;( Guess I have to look for bad solder joints.

No. Just leave off the clip. The DC jack gets wired as usual.

Just to make sure I understand that correctly: I do not conect the DC jack to the ring of the input jack and just wire it to the 9V input on the PCB?

thanks for the fast reply!

General Questions / Battery clip

Hey guys,
I have a beginners question. If I want to leave off the battery clip, since I wont use the battery anyways, am I right to just connect the DC jack with the Inputs's ring clip?
Thanks

p.s.: the effect I'm building is the Lowrider octaver, which is +9V. I don't need the -9V which is often supplied by a battery.

Thanks a lot!
I already found all the components I need, hopefully they arrive early next week. Unfortunately, the 1uF MLCCs are not as easy to source as regular film capacitors, but I managed to find some, even if they are rather expensive. I guess they will be worth the money :)

Thanks a lot for your fast response!
I guess, I'll try the 1/4'' trim poti and if it doesn't fit, I'll either make it fit or go whining to our electrician at work, he might have the correct one in stock just for safety ;)

Hey guys.
sorry to reopen this old topic, but from what I read we haven't really found a solution to the problem at hand by now. As I just ordered the LowRider and ZeroPoint SDX PCBs, I'm putting my BOM together and now I've been wondering if there's one kind of "universal trim pot" that is used in the madbean projects, like 5mm, 10mm, 15mm or 1/4'' (these are the kind that musikding.de offers, which is where I'll order the parts).
Does anyone know which trimmers fit?

Also, i was wandering if the pin spacing of the capacitors is always 5mm. I guess, the smaller the bigger since you can just bend the pins if the spacing is bigger...
Since I already started asking, i've got one more: For the zeropoint SDX there's a suggestion MLCC capacitor. In what way are the different from regular film capacitors?
Thanks
