Foot controlled clean blend

Has anyone attempted to put a clean blend in a wah enclosure and put an effect loop to connect the effect of your choice?

I've been contemplating if this is practical.
I build, and once in a while I might sell, pedals as "Vertigo Effects".

It would not be very hard to do. I would make it active instead of passive with an option to change the phase setting on the effects loop or your clean signal to ensure you don't have any phase problems with two signals in parallel.

I have a project coming up called the Side by Side which lets you do two loops in parallel. That could be adapted to do what you are describing by making one loop the pass-through on the clean signal and then making the volume a wah type control. But, the design is a bit more circuit than you actually need....maybe someone else has already designed a one loop type circuit.

Isn't this the idea behind the first circuit in the Panning for Fun article?

The 10k pot is what the foot treadle would control. I believe JMK's website has this PCB.

My idea for this came from a desire to increase and decrease distortion with a foot control, while playing, without affecting the volume. I was thinking of putting a distortion pedal in a wah box and having the foot pot control gain, but I dont think that will work, due to the volume issue. I want the signal volume to be constant. Would it stay constant with a panner? So, would my blend idea be the way to go about this?

This appears to be the ticket, but I can't find a 10k wah pot. Anyone know where one is?

Yes. Set your max gain and volume on the dirt, and use the blend to swell it in.

Cool. Thanks, Chris!
Found a pot, too.
