That LPR for the modulation is a pretty trick idea.  How does it work on a stage, under ever-changing lights? 

Yes, it's always going to have varying results depending on the environment. It's in series with the Frequency pot so it has some range of adjustment. If your light show is synchronised to your music in some way it definitely could get interesting.

By "mod" I meant ring modulator. The circuit is Culturejam's  improved "Thing Modulator," originally designed by Tim Escobado. With a bit of searching you should be able to track it down.
My vero layout is attached. Using the right IC is crucial, they can be a little tricky to locate- I have a bunch if anyone wants some.

Mine are about 200 & 250hfe respectively. Reduced the gain pot to 1k also.
