Title: Guitar swing fail
Post by: gtr2 on June 06, 2013, 05:16:01 PM
Ever have this happen?  Yikes, he really got some air!  This is why I don't do guitar stunts, even with strap locks...

The action is past the 1 min mark.

I did. that was epic.

Best stage stunt I saw was a band called "Disciple" in Edmonton. One of the guitar players did a back flip, which his guitar, off a Bass cab, during a song, and never missed a note.

Mason was a little bummed.

What's funny is when the lead singer says "That's the second time that has happened". Hopefully I'd be wise enough to stop after the first time.

This is why you have gig instruments and home instruments......

That being said, a guy I used to play with had a mint 60s SG willed to him by his grandfather.  Didn't want to install strap locks cause it would ruin the "vintage" of the instrument.  Did something a little less stupid than the full guitar swing, went headstock first into the concrete floor, and now is a mid 60s SG with a headstock repair.

Disciple rules, been listening to Scars Remain quite a bit recently.

And with that, I'm at 500 posts.  I'm not a doctor, but I play one on Madbean....

Nice! I don't even remember when I hit 500... I think I'm closing on 5000.

Wow!  I couldn't even do that without a guitar.  I'd break my neck!
