After building the first Andromeda for somebody else, I promised myself I'd build one for me......eventually. I've been chipping away at this one for months now, little bits here and there.
It's obviously similar to the first one, but there are a few changes:
1.) I used a Screwdriver in place of the Lunar Module. I also put in a muff with a switch to go between the two fuzzes. Since the Screwdriver has three 100k pots in it, it was easy: I just used dual gang pots for those and wired them to the muff PCB. The ALT switch changes the fuzz (and the bi-color LED). This made the wiring a bit less pleasant than the first build.
2.) Instead of a Phase 90, I decided to use brian's Stage Fright. This was the last board ready (thanks bcalla for the 1MC pots), so I haven't played through it that much yet. So far, it seems promising.
3.) Asthetically, I added a bottom plate to this build and mounted the LEDs behind the plate.
4.) I am sure this can't be seen, but the plates don't have paint backfilling them this time. Instead of painting, I laser cut some stiff, white paper into a slightly smaller shape of each plate. I think this looks a bit cleaner than the backfilled paint.

Brilliant idea on the fuzz.
It looks great.
this is how you upgrade an already amazing build... friggin awesome! That wiring is crazy.
Wow... wow... so symmetric, so futuristic, so pro in detail. Wow.
I say it again:
Wow!
Beautiful work! I love the plates.
:o good lord! :o

Man, didn't know perfection could be improved on, but yet again you defy the laws of reality. I really like how the screwdriver and the muff are the same size board and snuggle up nicely together. Bravo!
You, sir, are the worst. >:(
Not really, of course... but damnit... quit raising the damn bar every two months. ;D
Also, when are you going to have more through-hole Screwdriver boards? I needs one!
Brilliant Dave. Particularly liked the switchable screwdriver/muff modification.
Jacob
Just wow!
Very impressive, well above the standard of many boutique pedals
Dave, Dave, Dave... :o
This is just mind blowingly good :o
My eyes! :o :o :o
Dazzled I am, truly impressive build Dave. Always a treat to see your pedals
.
O MY :o
An inspiration to all!
Josh
Simply amazing!

It's closest to the Mayo. I prefer it with 2n5088 transistors, though.
Good god, man.
I hate you! In the I really admire you because I'll never be able to match that kind of awesomeness kind of way. So... I hate you... in a good way.
**runs off to sob in his bedroom because he has never felt so inadequate**
And....... He does it again!!!!! Even better this time... Man, that is amazing :o Good thing to first try it out for somebody else and then make the one for yourself even better! ;)
Paul
outstanding!!
That is absolutely outstanding :o
Such a cool build dude!
How come I haven't seen this one before!!!!???
This one is the end of the road people. I am not that easily impressed with those n-in-1 pedals but this one really blew me away. Fantastic work man, and I LOVE that LOOK!!!!
Not much more I can say that hasn't been said already... Just pure CLASS!!!!
Brilliant Dave :)
Mike
I almost regret using the "jawdroppingly awesome" comment for your mini Lunar Modules, because now I am out of words. This is stunning.
You Sir know how to impress me! ;)
What are those bezels fixtures?

Nothing terribly exciting. Each one is a stack of two black acrylic circles. The top circle is sized to fit the LED. The bottom circle has a larger 1/4" ID to match up with the hole and the box and the acrylic front. If I used the same ID for both, it is possible that the ringlight would be partially obscured (although I didn't test it).
May not be exciting, but it's clever.
P.S.: If you're online later tonight....hit me if you have time...;)
this is amazing! such craftsmanship. very impressive
Alright man, when are the andromeda boards coming out ;)
Really cool idea to make the screwdriver/BMP run off dual gangs.
I was blown away by the last andromeda. I don't have words for this one.
What size enclosure are you putting that all in? It must be the size I a briefcase?
It's a 1550G. Definitely not a smaller sized case.
And thanks for all of the compliments. I always appreciate getting feedback from the folks here.
Thats not so bad, my power supply is in one of those.
I was just comparing the two, and surprisingly the 2.0 looks even more polished. I think the additional plate across the bottom gives it a crisper more consistent look....
If you don't win the June content with this I'd be amazed.
