Title: alternate pot values for the Kingslayer
Post by: MarkL on June 21, 2013, 10:27:13 PM
Hi...I've got a Kingslayer board I'm about to start working on, but instead of the 100KB (dual gang) gain pot I have a 250KB (dual gang) pot.  Does anybody foresee any difficulty if I use this?

Also -- would subbing the 10K volume pot for a 25K adversely affect the corner frequency of the output (would it "muddy" or darken the output)?

I'm curious about this too. I'm not sure, but I think a higher value gain pot would make the pedal a little quieter and cleaner sounding overall.

I built my KS with the 100K gain pot (used audio/log), but want to push the overdrive even harder. Many times I'm totally maxed with the gain all the way up. Do you guys think changing to a 50K pot do the trick?

Raising the value of the pot you'd go the other way. After 100K, next would be a 250K, then 500K.
