Title: You know what's a fun game?
Post by: wstimson on June 25, 2013, 04:26:00 PM
Ordering the "blemished" or "seconds" powder coated enclosures from SmallBear and then trying to figure out what the hell is "wrong" with them.

Just got one in this morning... Seriously, no idea why it isn't good enough to sell at full price.

Sometimes you get the wrong color lid! But yeah, I've never seen a flaw. Most of the time I can't find the "flaw" on Pedal Parts Plus seconds. Those things are delicious.

I guess a mismatched lid could be a negative, but that hasn't happened to me yet.
And even if it did, no big deal really.

This one is a cool powder blue which should work nicely for the FSH I'm planning to put in it.
Not a bad deal for less money than a bare metal one at Tayda.

I actually LOVE ordering blems without knowing the color until they arrive. Forces me to be a little more creative when I design decals for 'em. Some of my favorite pedals have come from that sort of process...

Agreed, got a couple on the way myself.
