Post by: billstein on July 26, 2013, 10:10:33 PM
Hi all. Here's my latest build. Hope you like it.

Stock Rat (Slow Loris). Etched faceplate.

I'll get some sound files up soon.

Thanks guys for your kind words. I've never liked Rats that much but of course we build them because they are there. :) But this morning I was playing around with this and combining other pedals. I think I'm starting to see why people like these so much.

I hope to have some sound files up by tomorrow.

I really like this. It's extra badass. I'd never played through a rat until a couple weeks ago, and now I really get it.

That is beautiful, Bill.

You went all out with the pricey knobs, too.

if you can record a little sound sample, you should enter this into this month's contest.

Loving this, inside and out, just a classy build built with care.
As to Rats go I really hate them. BUT - it's different when you play alone in the bedroom and with a band. I guarantee you, while the Rat will sound boring and not so impressive at home, with the band, somehow, it will sound glorious, and will give you just the right span of frequencies that you need for your guitar to sit perfectly well in a mix.

Bill, i thought you were fairly new to this, you're crankin' out some stellar builds mate, obviously a man of great talent and taste, all the best, Matt.

I built a bit about 10-11 years ago when I lived in England. It was nothing like these builds. Mostly it was an aluminum box with knobs and no labeling. I pulled out some of the old boxes and don't have a clue what they are. Back in those days I was just happy if it worked and who cares what the inside looked like.

This is definitely a whole new level for me and I blame this board. The talent here is a great incentive to keep pushing myself.

Thank you again for the very kind words. I appreciate it.
