Ive been shopping on ebay for a swollen pickle and I noticed 2 different finishes. the painted ones and ones that look like transparent paint on a brushed enclosure. Is there fakes out there ? old vs new model ? any info would be cool
yeah, there is an old and new version.

The bigger tell is the "vintage" ones only have 3 nobs
The new MK2 (also indicated on the naming silkscreen) has two additional external nobs that are like little trimmers.
The Mk2 is one of the best value for money commercial fuzz pedals Ive heard / owned.
Every shade of big muff you can imagine, relay true bypass, sweet battery drawer, small footprint (same footprint as a boss pedal if you consider the top mounted vs side mounted jacks).
In fact I own (from the reissues)
- Supa Puss
- Pork Loin
- Swollen Pickel
- Fat Sandwich
- Angry Troll
- Green Rhino
- Ringworm
All are lovely. Except the Ringworm which has shitty bypass for some reason...

I agree with Lace'.
I sold my Swollen Pickle to him, and I regret it sometimes. I may have to buy a replacement to sate my Way Huge lust (fancy a Fat Sandwich).
The new Way Huge stuff is beautifully engineered IMO.
The Pork Loin is one of the best low gain overdrives Ive owned also, that being said its not a genre of pedal I own a lot of, but this has a lot of mileage in it especially with the clean blend.
People speak of this highly in the same sentences as Klons...
And as mentioned, the engineering in the line is second to none.
Build quality is up there with anything on the market in my opinion also.

From a purely functional standpoint, you can just buy the Green Rhino and the Red Llama, right?
or suitable clones and stuff them in a box
but yeah a real one would be nice from a collection perspective, and the name is second to none :)
Now days if they brought it back it would be renamed to something like "Treehugger"
or "Holding Hands in the Park" im sure correctness is why it didn't come back
