Title: Super Sunking!
Post by: jkokura on February 14, 2011, 03:32:17 AM
This Sunking has a few options added in - selectable diode clipping! There are BAT41, JFETS and LED's in there for clipping. It's also been trubypassed, and the enclosure has been mirror finished. However, the mirroring was done so well by me, that the clear coat had trouble sticking to it. I ended up having to tone it down some so I could get the clear to stick!

No Guts on this one. I forgot to take a picture!

I've also had trouble with clear coat sticking to high gloss metal finishes.

yours turned out great in the end though.

Dude....you are on fire! That is a great looking build. Nothing beats the polished aluminum look, IMO.

There is still time to take a picture.  I'd love to see how you did the switches with the clippers.

jacob, would you please describe the difference you hear using LEDs vs JFETs in this circuit?

If you take a scotch pad to the enclosure first, then clean/degrease it, the clear will have something to stick too.  Don't worry, the clear coat will fill the scratches and leave a nice reflective finish.
