Title: Two kingslayer questions
Post by: playpunk on September 18, 2013, 02:28:32 AM
First: I bought a tle2074 ic for my kingslayer. I think or at least I thought that this ic would work. Any thoughts?

Second: can I use my standard testing rig or do I have to wire the switch for the buffer if I want to test it out?

According to the literature, the TLE2074 is a direct substitute, so you should be fine.

As far as the bypass switch, yes, you'll need to accommodate it in your testing rig if you're building it as buffered bypass.

OK, excellent. That is what I *thought* after reading the literature, but I can't for the life of me remember why I thought that when I ordered the parts.

I should have the goods to finish the bypass version soon, but I am seriously considering building it as a true bypass pedal as well, since I have all of that stuff on hand.

Thank you for your help.

I took a swing at a switching scheme for true/buffered bypass. It's documented at the bottom of this thread:

It should work, but I haven't tested it myself.
