Title: what can you do if the hole is too big? :P
Post by: Gledison on September 18, 2013, 07:00:21 PM
hey, you dirty mind!
after taking a lot of care with the decal, clear coat, etc... I've just screwed the hole for the DC jack bigger than it should.
I've decided to check what I have at home to use to solve the problem.
just want to share with you in case u face the same problem...
here is the Big hole:

the DC jack falls inside of the big hole :S

The solution I've found was a silicone O-ring that fitted perfectly with the DC jack.

and here is how it looks:

I didn't want to use any metallic ring to keep the same collors :P
is not the best solution, but it works :P

I did that not to long ago. I ended up stealing a black plastic nut from another DC jack and had one on the outside and one on the inside. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Excellent save! You'd never know there ever was an issue.

+1. I've done this. If you want to rock a black one go to Home Depot and get their 7/16 fiber washer in those pull drawers. Grab a round file and in 60 seconds you can file the hole just a bit bigger. I now ditch the white 3PDT washers for these fiber ones as well.

This is good to know. I was wanting a black washer for "The Stank"
