Title: Boomstick on new fabbed board
Post by: revmayer on February 19, 2011, 05:23:29 AM
I built this one with spare parts I had.  I didn't have everything I needed.  So, C5 is a 1uf tantalum that I had lying around.  Therefore, my subs switch is like the previous boomstick I built, switching the input cap.   Not the prettiest this, but is sounds good and is compact.  Have I mentioned how much I like the new fabbed boards?  Brian, you are amazing.  I have thoroughly enjoyed your projects.

Yeah the fabbed boards are awesome... Joey do you buy prepainted enclosures?

All of the projects that I have posted have been in powder coated enclosures from PPP except the Quasar, which was from small bear.  I've done about a half dozen projects in enclosures that I painted myself.  I started using powder coat when I moved into an apartment.  Without a garage I can't spray the enclosures or cure them in an oven.  I have found that the power coat is much more durable.  I may get back into doing my own finishes when I get a garage again.
