Wanted to build a Cosmopolitan. Didn't want to bother with etching.

Tried to go for a "Black Label" look. Not sure it worked.
Got a pack of MP38A Russian Germaniums, used one in this. Very nice sounding overdrive / fuzz, very usable. Highly recommended.
Couldn't be bothered with etching? Lazy bum....;D
What's the hFE on that germ, Alan?

Honestly don't know -- I just bunged onto the board the first one my hand landed on. The multimeter doesn't do fancy pants hFE readings :-[

I like you man, we just think a like!
As long as it works you did good. :)
Swapped some MP38A's for a few Miniwatt AC127's with FuZZiEBro (NZ).
Compared to the MP38A, the AC127's all sounded thin and lacking, kinda disappointing. Like lager compared to Stolichnaya.
Got one of these Cosmos half finished myself.
I'm a big fan of those Ruskie trannys too.
Your enclosures always say PUNK ROCK.
Reminds me of that good ol bloke Mendeleev. His minor condribution to wellfare was obviously to sort up that periodic table of chemical elements... his major contribution though, was to carefully taste and judge different vodka strengths. Ever since then, 40% is the set standard:)
Cheerio!
Nice--looks like a classy Eagle workup of Brian's layout! This is one my all-time favorites as well. I've got other drives but if I had to reduce it to one, this would be it.
I think the hfe on the ge tranny in mine is like 55, which paired with a high-gain BC108 sounds perfect.
