Title: TL072 instead of TL062 for the PorkBarrel
Post by: Gledison on October 18, 2013, 05:08:39 PM
Dear experts.
need ur help again..
I was checking the Datasheet of both ICs and it says that the TL062 is a low power but the TL072 is a low Noise IC. I have an extra TL072 and I would like to ask you guys if it would be ok..
thanks a lot!

Looks like it's ok. Socket it if you want to be able to swap it later.

It should work, but the low power versions seem to help with ticking from oscillators. I think the original called for a TL022. Socketing it would be a good idea in case you do have issues with ticking/thumping.

Yup, the original had a TL022, I have 2 scavenged from other pedals, but they make no decernible difference to the TL062. I think a 72 will be fine.

As long as you remember that some circuits can be very picky, it's amazing what you can get away with sometimes for substitutes.

That is without a doubt the best thing you can do!
