Title: Distortion Channel
Post by: ggarms on October 20, 2013, 08:49:47 PM
Hey guys-

My dad gave me a really awesome old Yamaha Thirty 112. It sounds fantastic and the reverb on it rules. It has a 1/4 input in the back for the distortion channel footswitch. How would I go about building this?

I couldnt find a schematic for that amp but you can easily test out what is needed.

Most footswitches just short the tip and the sleve of the connector.  Try using a stereo phono plug and an (insulated) wire to test out what happens if you do so. Usually its a latching spst footwitch.

There is also the possibility it needs ring and sleve but you will find out.

I splits guitar cable and attached the split end to a spdt. Worked great!
