Title: VIPfx Xtc
Post by: Hexjibber on November 05, 2013, 11:00:55 AM
Really happy with the sound of this pedal, great PCB from Chi_Boy!

Enclosure etched using Sodium Hydroxide and laser toner mask.

Sorry no gut shot as it's already screwed down to my board!

Beautiful etch, but I'm really in love with your multiplex build.... man, that one is hard to match!

Thanks man, I have to admit the Multiplex is one of my favourites, great pedal as well!

Oh my. I wish I had the time/energy/ability to use some kind of illustrator program to do this stuff.

Is that a Gorm Shelf pedal board and "the bicycle chain" mounting?

Working on one of those myself. Very cool.

Working on one of those myself. Very cool.

It's very satisfying to do, mine has proved invaluable for gigging and for a fraction of the cost of a Pedaltrain etc

This is a shot of it from a while ago, built and swapped around some pedals since then! ;)

Nice, got any build pictures? I found a few blogs where these were built, and I have an idea of why I want to do. Just need one more piece

That is a fantastic looking board.  All of your pedals on there look great.

I think you also have the honor of being the only person I have seen use a Big Black cover on your Harmonic Percolator.

Unfortunately I don't, sorry, I didn't really document it as I was building it. One cool thing I found and used were these Ikea shelf brackets to prop it up with, got the idea from this pic

These are the brackets, you just saw them off to the angle and height you want, very simple but effective! :)

Other than that was just some aluminium edging around it and some handles, only took an afternoon!

Thanks man, appreciate the compliment! Yes, had to be done regarding the Big Black Percolator! :D

The build is awesome.

Also, I love the look of all the pedals on your board.

The Gorm idea is fantastic. I'm going to build one for sure.

The shelf bracket idea is also a very tidy solution!

Top work all round dude  ;)

Are you doing something for bass with the XTC?

I'm playing bass more than guitar these days and wouldn't mind checking out a bass XTC.   I love with guitar and could imagine it might be cool with bass too.
