Title: Using a ICL7660SCPA
Post by: ddog on November 12, 2013, 03:36:42 PM
I am building the Supreaux Deux (here is the schematic: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B46z2J0FljLkeVpTMnVmeFJiU2s/edit?usp=sharing) and it calls for a tc7660scpa. I can't find those on eBay, so I was thinking of using an ICL7660SCPA. Would it work?

Yes!  Do make sure it is the "SCPA" version otherwise it may put some undesirable audible "whine" in your circuit.

Thanks everyone! just purchased a bunch

Is there a difference between 7660S, 7660SCPA and 7600S CPAZ. The seller had all three in the title, so I assumed it was the same part

The Z denotes itbeing lead free.

I've used the 7660 quite succesfully, but in combination with some other stompboxes, it gives weird clock noises. So i suggest you socket it, so that you can replace it if at some point it interferes with your setup.
